Community update with Christin Boggs
Christin was a visiting artist for our programme Art on the Farm during the summer of 2011. She is an artist, photographer, educator, and sustainable food advocate. She holds a MFA in Imaging Arts from Rochester Institute of Technology  and a BFA in Art and Visual Technology from George Mason University . Her photographs have been displayed in solo and group exhibitions and appeared in both online and print publications. Christin promotes sustainable food practices through photography and community development. She is currently residing in Helsinki, Finland, as a U.S. Fulbright Fellow, documenting Finnish food culture.

Community update with Julie Lequin
Julie was a participant in our residency programme in 2009. Her work is multidisciplinary, including video, performance, watercolor, writing, props and costumes, as well as written lists, voiceovers and notes for scripts. Julie’s first book and DVD project was published in 2007 by 2nd Cannons Publications, and she has had numerous exhibitions throughout North America and Europe. Julie was the 2011 recipient of the Joseph S. Stauffer Award, and was also awarded fellowships from the Canada Council for the Arts and from the California Community Foundation. In addition to her time at Cow House Studios she has participated in residencies at Yaddo, Art Omi, Macdowell Colony, and Les Recollets in Paris.
Community update with Madeleine Morris
Maddy was part of our first ever session of Art on the Farm in 2008. She is currently in her last semester studying painting and Italian at Vassar College in Poughkeepsie, NY. In addition to her visual art practice she is a prolific musician and currently in the band Weiner Apocalypse. Maddy has graciously taken time out of her busy final semester to answer a few of our questions.
Community update with Julie O’Rourke
We have just updated our Community page to include Julie O’Rourke. Julie is an artist and designer living in Camden, Maine. She is currently a member of two Arts based collectives, Muwin and the Steel House as well as co-owner of WHEREDOYOUGOTO//Design Co. Julie was a visiting artist for Art on the Farm in 2010 where she taught drawing and painting, but also boosted morale on long bus rides with impromptu tunes played on the ukulele.
Community update with Peter Allen Hoffmann
New to our Cow House Studios community section is a brief Q&A with former residency artist Peter Allen Hoffmann. Peter is a painter based in Brooklyn, New York. In 2005, he graduated with an MFA from Hunter College. He’s exhibited in Ireland, Germany and throughout the US. In 2008 he was one of our first residency artists, and has remained a close friend. His most recent solo exhibition Outer Space ran from May 30 – July 6, 2013 at Freight + Volume in New York. You can read our conversation here.

Community update with Amy Weiss-Meyer
We have just updated our community page to include a Q&A session with 2009 Art on the Farm alumna Amy Weiss-Meyer. As a Sophomore, she was part of our second ever summer session. Now a student at Harvard University, Amy has stayed in touch with us over the years. Amy has represented Cow House Studios at several summer fairs and even came for a visit during the summer of 2013. Jack was a student during Art on the Farm, 2009. He was entering senior year the following autumn, and made the decision to apply to art schools. Community update with Laurie Lax
Laurie was a participant in our 2010 artist residency. She was born in Canterbury, UK 1987, and graduated in Fine Art from Bath School of Art & Design 2010. Based at BV Studios in Bristol, Laurie has exhibited nationally in London, Bristol, Chester and Dundee and internationally in Poland, Ireland and Germany. She co-founded multidisciplinary collective Sondryfolk, collaborative artist group DFW (Dowsing for Water) and is a current member of Spike Associates. You can read our conversation here…
Community update with Darragh Casey
Darragh was a visiting artist in the summer 0f 2009. Based in London, his practice continually seeks ways of challenging our habits, norms and routines. Originally from Cork, Darragh graduated from NCAD Dublin with a BA in Art & Design Education. After developing a practice as both an artist and educator he completed an MA Design (furniture) from Central St. Martin’s , London in 2012.
