Each summer, we award six scholarships for students to attend Art on the Farm. There are two portfolio scholarships and four need-based scholarships. All scholarship applicants must submit a portfolio that demonstrates an advanced practice. We assess student portfolios by determining how the realization of completed artworks reflects a young artist’s curiosities, concerns, experience, and research. Please read more about each opportunity below and note the following awards do not include airfare.
Portfolio Scholarship: We award this scholarship to two individuals based on the strength of the applicant’s portfolio and artist’s statement. This scholarship equals 25% off our summer fees (€1300). The payment due is €3900. Download the application form here.
Need-based Aid: The following two opportunities are need-based. We determine our need-based aid using a formula based on the expectation of what a family can reasonably contribute to their child’s education. We consider a family’s income, assets, place of residence, and dependents within the household. Along with our application and portfolio requirements, parents will need to submit their most recent tax return to determine eligibility.
Need-based Award: We award this scholarship to two individuals based on the applicant’s financial need, the strength of their portfolio, and artist’s statement. This scholarship equals 75% off* our summer fees (€3900). The payment due is €1300. Download the need-based award application form here.
Diversity Award: This opportunity is open to individuals from historically underrepresented groups both here in Ireland and abroad. We award this scholarship to two individuals based on the applicant’s financial need, the strength of their portfolio, and artist’s statement. The value of this award equals our entire spring/autumn gap semester fees. No payment is due to Cow House Studios. Download the diversity award application form here.
All payments must be made in euros. Payment can be made by wire transfer, Visa, or MasterCard. Once we have received your application form the person responsible for payment will receive an email with detailed instructions.
Art on the Farm is for students aged 15 to 18 years.
A full refund will be given if a request is received in writing at the Cow House Studios by March 1st. Requests received by April 1st will be given a full refund minus an administrative fee of €990. No refunds are given for cancellations received after April 1st. Once the program has started, no refunds are granted for early voluntary withdrawal, absences, or behavioral dismissals (decisions that are at the sole discretion of Cow House Studios). In the event that a class is canceled by Cow House Studios for whatever reason, all fees will be refunded.
Medical insurance is not included in the program fee. All participants must have medical insurance prior to their arrival in Ireland. Parents should check with their insurance provider to confirm that their child will be covered during international travel.
