Session 2 Photos

The first week of session two was bathed in beautiful sunshine. We all welcomed new friendships, and in our first few days everyone spent their time working hard in the studio making their own journals, printing in the darkroom and creating a series of 10 paintings.

Our trip to Dublin was packed full of activities beginning with a tour of historic Kilmanhaim Gaol, followed by the exhibit The Afronauts by Cristina De Middel at Copper House Gallery. We were also treated to studio visits with artists Michelle Browne and Kevin Cosgrove, as well as viewing a large array of work at the Royal Hibernian Academy annual exhibition. There was of course time for a spot of shopping on Grafton Street, and many thrift shop finds in Georges Street Arcade. Dublin was bustling in the fine weather and we joined the many people picnicking and lounging in St. Stephens Green.

The last few days have been spent in the studio completing projects, enjoying some dips in the pond, walks in the woods and bike rides. It was wonderful to see such an accomplished and varied array of work for our first critique, and we look forward to heading to the west of Ireland in a few days.
