Open Residency Program 2026
Program Description
The Cow House Studios Open Residency Program is intended to offer artists critically valuable time and space to become immersed, research, and make new work. This residency aims to minimize distraction and ensure that momentum gained while working in the studio can be acted upon, helping to make even shorter stays highly productive.
Applications are open to Irish and international cultural practitioners working in any discipline; visual artists, theatre-makers, writers, thinkers, choreographers, designers, performers, filmmakers, sculptors, photographers, etc. are strongly encouraged to apply.
Cow House Studios provides a private room in our shared accommodation, meals, and twenty-four-hour access to the studio and facilities. Generous individual spaces are provided, and the 343 m2 (3700 ft2) open-plan space contains woodworking tools, a darkroom, and a computer lab. Additionally, we have many readily available materials that artists may use. You can read a comprehensive list of equipment and materials at Cow House here.

Supported Residencies
In 2026, we offered several residencies in collaboration with Cork City Council, and the County Councils of Longford, Offaly, and Westmeath. These partnerships provided a total of five supported residencies for artists. If you are interested in supporting an artist to attend one of our residencies, please contact Frank Abruzzese.
