Into the Fold
Program Description
In collaboration with Creative Places Enniscorthy, Into the Fold was a residency developed specifically for Wexford-based artists. It grew out of our experience of hosting local artists during the August Open Program in 2024, which showed how much there was to gain from creating a shared, collective experience. We developed this new program to support a growing network of Wexford artists and to open up ways of sharing skills, ideas and opportunities, building a solidarity that will last beyond the initial investment of the Creative Places program.
This residency brought six creative practitioners to Cow House for one week in March. It reflected a key principle of Creative Places: connecting artists and local communities to inspire new ideas and collaborations, and to build a stronger, more cohesive creative environment.
Participants were given valuable time and space to immerse themselves in their practice, research, and make new work. Shared meals, studio visits and informal conversations built connections that will carry forward. On the final evening, previous participants and Wexford-based curators joined us for dinner and studio visits, giving everyone a chance to learn about each other's work and to form new connections and friendships.
