Step 1 – Online Form
Please complete this online application form. To complete this form, you will need the name and contact information of a current (or recent) teacher or professor who can act as a reference (they do not need to be an art teacher), a 300-word statement expressing your interests in attending FieldWorks gap year program, and a prepared PDF portfolio (10 MB maximum). You will receive an email confirmation following your submission. If you do not receive this email within 24 hours, please get in touch with Rosie O'Gorman (rosie@cowhousestudios.com).
When preparing your portfolio, please include between 10 and 20 images of your artwork compiled into one PDF file. Feel free to include artwork created at home or from classes you've taken over the past few years. The work you submit can vary significantly and should demonstrate a sustained interest in making art, as the goal is to show your capacity to create with focused attention.
Your works may span various mediums, including drawing, painting, photography, sculpture, video, embroidery, or more. If you wish, you can also include sketchbook images. Please add captions that indicate when the work was made, the medium, and the dimensions. You can also include short descriptions for each piece that addresses your ideas for the artwork. Whether you submit a selection of works in one medium or a diverse array of materials, choose works you are proud of and reflect your interests.
For your application to be considered, you must be at least 18 years old before the first day of the program. Please keep in mind that submitting an application does not guarantee acceptance, as we have a limited number of spaces available for just twelve participants. As we near capacity, we may have to make some tough decisions. Additionally, we want to ensure the best fit for the program, so applicants may be turned away if their materials suggest their motivations might not align with our curriculum.
Step 2 – Interview
Schedule a Zoom interview with Cow House Co-Director Rosie O’Gorman. A link will be provided in an email when you submit your application. The interview ensures that our program is the right fit and presents an opportunity for you to ask Rosie any questions you might have about the program.
Step 3 – Payment
Upon confirmation of acceptance, pay a deposit of €3400 to secure your space in the program. The balance of the fee is due Friday, June 28th, 2026. For registrations made after June 28th, 2026, tuition is due in full at the time of registration.
