Photo Gallery for Session 3

During our first few days everyone worked diligently in the studio making their own notebooks, learning their way around the darkroom and creating a series of acrylic paintings. Everyone has discovered the many delights of Mary’s baking, and we all had a chance to spark up new friendships with long chats over the dinner table and evening bike rides.

Our trip to Dublin was packed full of activities beginning with a tour of historic Kilmanhaim Gaol. We enjoyed an insightful studio visit with Japanese artist, Astushi Kaga at the Temple Bar Studios and incredible paintings by Eoin McHugh at the Douglas Hyde gallery in Trinity College. The Francis Bacon Studio at the Hugh Lane Gallery was also a favourite. In the evening we saw a movie at The Irish Film Institute and there was of course time for a spot of shopping on Grafton Street.

The last few days have been spent in the studio working on painting and photography projects. Everyone also had the chance to make beautiful plaster sculptures of their face during a casting workshop with Sinead. Today everyone was developing ideas for their book project with Eleanor and we begin to look forward to our trip to the west of Ireland.
