Our first photographs from the summer of 2013
We are delighted to be at the beginning of another great summer. In our first few days everyone spent their time working really hard in the studio making their own notebooks, printing in the darkroom and trying out some painting. Our new students have discovered the many delights of Mary’s baking, and we all had a chance to spark up new friendships.
Our trip to Dublin was packed full of activities with stops at The Lab to speak with artist Alan James Burns about his new exhibition, Hugh Lane Gallery to view Francis Bacon’s studio, Douglas Hyde gallery at Trinity college to see the work of Nigel Cooke and Ciaran Murphy, and a film at The Screen Cinema. During our second day we saw an exhibition of exciting new European work at Earlsfort Terrace, paintings by Phillip Allen at the Kerlin Gallery and a wonderful exhibit at the Gallery of Photography. We were constantly on the move, and the rain held off just enough for everyone to work in some good shopping.
The last few days have been spent in the studio working on assignments. It seems that everyone has settled in nicely, ready to take on the new week. Please have a look at our gallery of images by clicking here, and be sure to check back next week for more photos.
