Each semester, we award three scholarships for students to attend FieldWorks. There is one portfolio scholarship, and there are two need-based scholarships. All scholarship applicants must submit a portfolio that demonstrates an advanced practice. We assess student portfolios by determining how the realization of completed artworks reflects a young artist’s curiosities, concerns, experience, and research. Applications for all spring semester scholarships are due by Monday, November 30th. Shortlisted applicants will be contacted by Friday, December 4th to schedule an interview. Successful applicants will be notified by Friday, December 11th. Please read more about each opportunity below and note the following awards do not include airfare.
Portfolio Scholarship: We award this scholarship to one individual based on the strength of the applicant’s portfolio and artist’s statement. This scholarship equals 25% off our spring/autumn gap semester fees (€3,237.50). The payment due is €9,712.50. Download the portfolio scholarship application form here.
Need-based Aid: The following two opportunities are need-based. We determine our need-based aid using a formula based on the expectation of what a family can reasonably contribute to their child’s education. We consider a family’s income, assets, place of residence, and dependents within the household. Along with our application and portfolio requirements, parents will need to submit their most recent tax return to determine eligibility.
Need-based Award: We award this scholarship to one individual based on the applicant’s financial need, the strength of their portfolio, and artist’s statement. This scholarship equals 75% off* our spring/autumn gap semester fees (€9,712.50). The payment due is €3,237.50. Download the need-based award application form here.
Diversity Award: This opportunity is open to individuals from historically underrepresented groups both here in Ireland and abroad. We award this scholarship to one individual based on the applicant’s financial need, the strength of their portfolio, and artist’s statement. The value of this award equals our entire spring/autumn gap semester fees. No payment is due to Cow House Studios. Download the diversity award application form here.
All payments must be made in euros. Payment can be made by wire transfer, Visa, or MasterCard. Once we have received the acceptance letter from the successful applicant the person responsible for payment will receive an email with detailed instructions.
FieldWorks is for students aged 18 to 22 years.
A full refund will be given if a request is received in writing at Cow House Studios by November 13th (Spring) June 1st, 2021 (Autumn). Requests received by December 1st, 2020 (Spring) July 1st, 2021 (Autumn) will be given a full refund minus an administrative fee of €2950. No refunds are given for cancellations received after December 1st, 2021 (Spring) July 1st, 2021 (Autumn). Once the program has started, no refunds are granted for early voluntary withdrawal, absences, or behavioral dismissals (decisions which are at the sole discretion of Cow House Studios).
