Empty Nest
It was just two short days ago we bid farewell to our wonderful students from session 3, and its hard to believe the summer has come to an end. Things seem just a bit too quiet around here after nine weeks of students buzzing around the studio. Our last few weeks of session 3 have been great. Our trip to Cork was a fun break from work in the studio. Highlights would definitely include our magical walk through the misty cliffside hills on Cape Clear as well as our sea kayaking adventure and visit to the Irish Sky Garden by James Turrell. Our last week saw everyone hard at work in the studio, but we still had tome to hike up the Blackstairs Mountain with Rosie’s father Michael. It was nice to hear some of the history of the area while we took in the amazing views. In our final critique we saw some great paintings, photographs, drawings, performance and installation.
We would like to especially thank our visiting artists Adam, Eleanor and Katie for all their hard work, generosity and excellent teaching. The summer would not have been the same without you, and your dedication to all our students led to some truly remarkable work. We would also like to thank Serena for her amazing help in the kitchen cooking up some delicious vegetarian and vegan fare, as well as leading our yoga classes this summer.
We will look back fondly on all the good times, great art and new friendships we enjoyed this summer. I’m sure we will see many of you this winter, and wish everyone the best of of luck in the coming school year. You can see the new photos hereā¦
